As a people called by God to form the congregation of Tazewell Presbyterian Church, we are striving to provide opportunities for our adult members of all ages that will enable each one to grow in the knowledge of what God requires of us as followers and servants of Christ in the community of faith. Our progressive Christian Education Team strives to adjust our programs to the current needs of our congregation.
Adult Sunday School Class
An adult Sunday school class meets Sundays at 10:00 AM in the fellowship hall at Black’s Chapel. This follows their 9:00 AM worship service.
There is also an adult Sunday school class that meets at 10:00 AM Sundays in the fellowship hall of Tazewell Presbyterian Church.
Both are composed of men and women of any age who are vitally interested in studying the Scriptures in depth, book by book, using a study guide and exploring ways it applies to our lives in today’s world as we seek to understand God’s will and purpose for us individually as well as corporately in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church.
Sunday Night Live! (SNL)
Sunday evenings also have programs for our adults which we call SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE! Starting at 5:00 PM, we have a light supper in the Tazewell Presbyterian Church fellowship hall followed by Bible study offerings. This is a wonderful time for fellowship and study of God’s word! The studies are usually ten weeks long with different people volunteering to teach. We have completed our fall study session and will start back on Sunday evening, January 22, 2017 at 5:00PM with a five week series, “A Course in Prayer,” with Dr. Dave Gilbert presiding as our leader. Dr. Don Hudson, Dean of the Philosophy and Religion Department at King University, will lead the next series during the season of Lent.
Nursery care is provided during the Sunday evening program.
The Tazewell Presbyterian Women are committed to Bible Study, nurturing our faith and the faith of all people in our church, missions and the overall caring of those in our church family.
